hi how are you?Claire here, 1/3 of the indie rock band My So-Called Summer. If you are here, it means you somehow found us in the endless noise, and we are so grateful for that. If you overthink everything, if you have a slightly dark sense of humor, if you're always in the small group because big groups give you anxiety, if it takes you a while to open up but when you do you really do, if you vehemently despise social media but deeply desire an honest connection with others, if "being yourself" is not straightforward for you, if you miss a world that wasn't constantly being optimized or performed, if you love 90s inspired indie rock, then I think you'll like it here.We don't wanna be a band you follow, we wanna be a place you visit. If you're wondering what happened to Reliant TomMonte & I spearheaded a band called Reliant Tom from meeting in Brooklyn in 2015- moving upstate and officially announcing our retirement of the project in 2025. In that decade we released 3 albums and played countless shows. Those albums will always be there, and we are so pround of them, but we won't be performing as Reliant Tom again. We worked with amazing artists in the city to create our live show, and it's not the same without them. Reliant Tom was very much a Brooklyn band, heavily inspired by the decade we lived there. I also can't be the girl dancing in a body suit with the orbs anymore and I hope you understand. So Monte & I are moving forward in music as My So-Called Summer with our best friend Brendan, in a beautiful small town you've never heard of that claims to be "the only Stephentown on earth.".I never felt like my voice or my songwriting were enough to carry a project, and I relied on our dancers to be up there with me for confidence. In My So-Called Summer, I'm really trying to keep things simple, and I'm really hoping it's enough. So for now, we are just a trio and we are just playing songs that mean a lot to me.
